
SYMPOSIA
✓ As part of health and social awareness initiatives, World AIDS Day was observed on 01 December 2025 at the college. A candle-lighting ceremony was held to express solidarity with individuals affected by HIV/AIDS and to raise awareness about prevention, stigma removal, and compassion towards those living with the condition.
✓ A seminar titled "The Future of Careers: What Will Change in the Next 10 Years?" was conducted on 28th November 2025 at Aashrayam College. The programme was organized by the Placement and Training Cell of Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham. The session was led by Mr. Muhammed Shareef, representative of Shabiz Global Pvt. Ltd. A total of 35 students from the Commerce and Psychology Departments participated in the event. The objective of the seminar was to create awareness among students regarding emerging career opportunities, higher studies, and entrepreneurial prospects in their respective fields.
✓ The students of Aashrayam College of Arts and Science conducted an industrial visit to the Milma Diary, Kallepully, Palakkad on 26th November 2025 as part of their studies. The primary objective of the visit was to understand how the milk collected from farmers is processed, preserved and transformed into various dairy products before being supplied to consumers. The visit provided insights into the processing of milk, the functioning of milk societies, quality control etc.
✓ An orientation session was conducted on the career opportunities in the field of Logistics & Supply Chain Management by SCM Hub, Info park, Kochi. The session was handled by Mr Umesh & Mr Shyam, representatives, career wing, SCM Hub on 08.10.2025. The session helped the students to understand the courses to be selected in logistics and supply chain management and the career growth & opportunities in it.
✓ On 25 September 2025, Ms. Dhanya B., Senior Treatment Supervisor (STS), Chittur Taluk Hospital, conducted an awareness session on Tuberculosis (TB). The session focused on prevention, early detection, and treatment strategies. The class emphasized the collective responsibility required to achieve India's goal of eliminating TB by 2025, five years ahead of the global WHO target. The awareness programme encouraged students to become responsible advocates for public health and community wellbeing.
✓ The Department of Social Work organized a field visit to Pratheeksha Special School, Thathamangalam, Pudunagaram, on 19th September 2025, with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to the functioning of institutions working for differently-abled children. During the visit, the social work students actively interacted with the inmates of the school and engaged in various recreational and cultural programs. Both the students of the department and the children of the school participated enthusiastically, showcasing their talents through songs, dance, and other performances.
✓ A Business Quiz competition was organized by the Symposium in association with Commerce Forum, Department of Commerce on 7 August 2025. The event started with a warm introduction by our beloved principal Dr. P K Sudarshanan sir. A total of 12 teams, each comprising two members, participated in the quiz. The quiz was conducted in multiple rounds, including General Business Awareness, Logo Identification and Taglines. The event was hosted by Ms Nisha K, HOD, Department of Commerce, Ms Athira S & Ms Safna, Assistant Professor of Commerce. Following a highly competitive series of rounds, the team from III B.Com Gopika & Nivedya secured the first position.
✓ A career guidance class was conducted on July 17, 2025 at Aashrayam college of Arts & Science with the aim of helping students understand various career options available in the field of commerce. The session was led by Yazir & Muhasin, Career development wing co-ordinators, IIC Lakshya Campus, Thrissur. The session highlighted the importance of job opportunities and career growth in the professional courses CA, ACCA, CMA. Students of III B.Com, II B.Com & II BSc Psychology attended the session.
✓ On 01 July 2025, Vignanolsavam 2025 was officially inaugurated through live streaming by the Honorable Higher Education Minister, Dr. R. Bindu. The inaugural ceremony of the College Vignanolsavam was conducted in person by Sri. Sivan, Ward Member, who also offered special greetings to the undergraduate students. The gathering was presided over by Dr. P. K. Sudarsanan, Principal, Ashrayam College of Arts and Science. Ms. Ananya P. A., College Union Chairperson, felicitated the function. The welcome address was delivered by Mrs. Nisha K, Head of the Department of Commerce, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Bibith K. B., Assistant Professor.
✓ Aashrayam College of arts & science organized an Anti-Ragging programme & Oath taking ceremony on June 30, 2025 to raise awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and promote a safe & supportive learning environment. The session was led by Advocate Abuthahir M, was presided over by Dr P K Sudarsanan, Principal of the college. The programme effectively sensitized students to the issue, highlighting the legal implications, emotional impact and importance of maintaining a ragging free campus.
✓ To mark the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Aashrayam College of arts and science, Kollengode, Palakkad organized an Anti-Drug day program on June 26, 2025. The program began at 10.00 am in the college with the welcome address delivered by Ms Abhirami R S, Student Editor, College Union, Dr P K Sudarshanan, Principal, Aashrayam College made presidential address for the program. Ms Sunitha, Ward member, Kollengode inaugurated the session and delivered a speech highlighting the role of educational institutions in preventing substance abuse among youth. Following the lecture, an Anti-Drug pledge was taken by all staffs and students, reaffirming their commitment to staying drug free and spreading awareness.
✓ Valentine's Day was celebrated on 14th February, 2025 under the auspices of the College Arts Club. A competition was held in which the students were asked to prepare a love letter and the letter written by third year student Krisha Prakashan was adjudged to be the best.
✓ On 31 January 2025, Aashrayam College of Arts and Science successfully conducted an insightful and empowering event titled "Fly on High" as part of its symposium. The highlight of the session was an engaging and interactive talk led by Mr. Sreejith S Nair, Founder & Chairman of KBS Academy, Palakkad.
✓ On January 17, 2025, the Commerce Forum of Aashrayam College of Arts and Science organized a session on the stock market titled 'A Peep into the Stock Market.' The session was led by Mr. Anil Kumar K, former CEO of Axis Bank Foundation.
✓ Aashrayam College of Arts and Science, Kollangode, organized a quiz competition on Kerala Piravi Day on 1 November 2024. Various cultural programs were also organized.
✓ On 25th October 2024, Aashrayam College of Arts and Science Conducted a debate Competition during Symposium hour, titled "Video Games Make People Violent".
✓ A career guidance class was organized at Aashrayam College of Arts and Science on October 18, 2024, as part of the OISCA Youth Forum. The session was led by Mr. Abdul Rahman, a motivational trainer, and Mr. Arjun Prasad, an Aspirational Block Fellow.
✓ A comprehensive seminar on 'A Guide to Professional courses in Commerce' was hosted by commerce forum of Aashrayam college of Arts and Science. The session was conducted by Ms Ambili S (Assistant professor of Commerce).
✓ Aashrayam college of arts and science as a part of Symposium, conducted an interactive session titled "Voices without borders: English as our Global language" inculcating the importance of English on 28.09.2024. The session was handled by Ms. Lalitha Anil Kumar, Co- Founder, Akshara foundation, a charitable Trust.
✓ Commerce department conducted the tagline competition based on the topic 'Introducing new product in the market' on 31st May 2024. It was aimed at fostering creativity and innovation, providing a platform for showcasing talent and ideas.
